East Gueridon Table / Side Table in Solid Cast Aluminum by Jordan Mozer, USA, 2005
Incredible biomorphic and organic side table by Jordan Mozer. This metal table was designed for East Hotel is the reincarnation of the bombed out ruins of an old foundry in Hamburg, Germany as a boutique hotel featuring Asian-fusion menus. The piece reflects the inspiration of surrealism and Gaudi as well. The table seems to be waving in the reflection of a carnival mirror. At once, moving or as seen underwater. It has sinuous curves in all the places. Not a straight line in sight. This piece was exhibited in the Chicago Art Institute's Young Chicago show and is part of the museum's permanent collection. Made in Chicago.
